Your Stepping Stone to Guitar Playing Greatness

guitar tutorialWhile it is true that you can learn the guitar on your own, guitar tutorials are a better and more assured way of learning how to play. Before you can start with tutorials, you obviously have to own a guitar first. If you are to take guitar playing seriously, you should have one. The main reason behind this is that you need to practice everyday for you to be able to hone your skills. You need not buy an expensive first guitar, since it will be mainly used for practicing. But of course, you should not buy guitars that are too cheap but of poor quality. There are a lot of guitars that range from $200 to $250 that are made in China and are hard to play. A high-end guitar creates great tune and is easier to play. Those that are around the $700 mark are acceptable. If you think that it is too costly, just remember that what you pay for is what you get.

Once you have your guitar, you can now start learning how to play it. To begin, you should look for good guitar tutorials. You may choose to apply for guitar lessons, but it can be really costly. So how do you start?

The Internet is probably the best source of effective beginner guitar tutorials. Quite a number of online guitar tutorials are for free. However, if you want a more effective and decent guitar course, you may have to pay a fee for it. Do not fret though (no pun intended), because these paid guitar lessons are cheaper as opposed to actual guitar lessons with a teacher. Plus, these paid lessons will give you more things to teach and will use a systematic approach in teaching.

Most of the guitar lessons online will start the course with teaching the basics of playing the guitar. Some of these basics include knowing the different guitar parts, the functions and names, changing the strings the proper way, the correct posture for playing (both sitting and standing), the different accessories for guitar and the correct way of holding the guitar and the pick.

Other things being taught are the different chords and how to play them. Finger placing is also essential in guitar playing. As soon as you know all the basics and you get used to it, you can move up a notch and start with picking and other complicated guitar playing skills.
